After four years in the pre-development pipeline, a mixed-use project is barreling ahead with construction on a gateway corner in Old Fourth Ward.

The long-abandoned Stone Mountain Tennis Center site is finally getting a second act, and it is anything but subtle. Construction crews have kicked off work on a new Costco that will anchor the Mountain Marketplace development, turning the old Olympic venue at 1915 West Park Place Blvd. into a sprawling mix of retail and housing. Developers are targeting an August 2026 opening, and local reports say this will be one of the largest Costco warehouses in the region.
